This a section that can be difficult if mistimed. Before leaving, walkers should check the tide times to avoid a more difficult or even dangerous walk. However, the rewards along the walk are great. Walkers can see a variety of wildlife from buzzards, finches and warblers to roe deer, seals, and even foxes and otters. Historical gems on route are the Birthplace of Robert Burns, St John’s Church Tower, Cromwell’s Fort, Loudoun Hall and Lady Cathcart’s House.
