Continuing along the beautiful Carrick coastline walkers can still expect to see a wealth of seabirds, coastal agriculture, and fantastic views of Ailsa Craig. This walk again covers a variety of terrain from sandy shores and rough gravel to minor road and farm tracks. Make sure to be careful around livestock. Interesting highlights to look out for on this part of the walk are: Grant’s Whisky Distillery, Alginate Factory, the site of the Roman Camp at Girvan Mains, Dowhill Motte, Turnberry Castle, RAF monument, Turnberry Lighthouse and of course the Turnberry Hotel and Open Championship golf course.
